Living School of Practice

Before There Was a Sanctuary
Lake Sai did not begin with land.
It began with one golden Standard Poodle named Pancake, who protected me, walked beside me through depression, and quietly changed the direction of my life.
Through him, I began to understand that animals do more than accompany us. They reveal the parts of us that are still learning how to trust, forgive, listen, grieve, and love.
The farm came later.
Relationship came first.
FEATURED STORY
The Animals Who Shaped Tianxin
Each animal entered with a life of their own.
Each relationship opened a different door.
These are not stories about perfect animals or perfect people. They are stories of trust, grief, recognition, motherhood, belonging, and the quiet intelligence moving between lives.
Lake Sai Is Where Tianxin Became a Life
Tianxin did not begin as a theory.
It grew through years of living with animals—through births and departures, healing and illness, trust earned slowly, and relationships that could not be controlled or hurried.
At Lake Sai, horses, dogs, goats, cats, birds, and the land itself are not illustrations for a teaching.
They are participants in it.
The work is simple, though not always easy:
to notice before acting,
to listen before deciding,
to respect what does not belong to us,
and to remain present long enough for relationship to become real.
This is the Tianxin practice of
與天地萬物同行—
walking with all beings.

The Relationship Is the Doorway
Animals are not here to fix us.
They are not spiritual tools, therapy props, or symbols waiting to be interpreted.
Each one has a life, a history, a personality, and a purpose of their own.
Yet something remarkable happens when two lives truly meet.
A fearful horse may reveal how we approach trust.
A grieving dog may show us that love does not disappear.
A newborn goat may awaken a form of motherhood we never knew we carried.
The animal is never the lesson.
The relationship is.
A Sanctuary of Relationship
Every encounter at Lake Sai begins with respect.
The animals choose the pace.
Some come close.
Some stay at a distance.
Some offer trust immediately.
Others ask us to earn it.
Nothing is forced.
Nothing is performed.
The dignity of the animals always comes before the experience of the visitor.
Lake Sai is a private working sanctuary.
Visits, retreats, and classes are offered only through invitation, application, or scheduled programs.

A Small Circle Is Forming
Beginning in 2027, Lake Sai will welcome a small founding circle for an immersive Tianxin farm practice.
This is not a retreat built around activities.
It is an invitation to slow down.
To create.
To listen.
To walk with animals, the land, and yourself in a different way.
The retreat space is currently being prepared.
The 2027 retreat space is still being prepared.
